TWICE in the Round, LA in a Frenzy: Inside the Most Electric Stops of the “THIS IS FOR” Tour

Having attended all four of TWICE’s Los Angeles tour dates, and their Vancouver stop, one thing is clear: the LA shows unlocked an entirely different level of energy. The 360-degree arena design ensures that every seat in the house feels connected to the show. The format echoes what BTS has recently announced for their high-demand tour, and a testament to how powerful this layout is for any future shows.

One of the stand out elements was TWICE’s North America tour outfits that blended prairie-inspired designs with western belts, voile, faux fur and fringed details. They were designed by Kim Shui (@kimshuistudio) where she explained how although the costumes appeared heavily layered and dimensional, that they were actually cleverly constructed zip-up pieces to accommodate the seamless transitions  between outfits without sacrificing visual complexity.

While the members changed outfits, the show never lost its momentum. The intermissions featured dynamic dance performances and live band performances, including rock-inspired renditions of their title tracks from their THIS IS FOR album.

The solo stages celebrating TWICE’s 10-year journey together, through the album, TEN: The Story Goes On. Dahyun’s performance of “CHESS”, stood out in particular, with the main LED screen using real-time g reen screen effects to generate moving, checkered visuals that reacted live to her performance. Chaeyoung performed “Shoot (Firecracker)” from her solo album that was released in September 2025, delivering a confident and cute stage. Mina’s “STONE COLD” and Jeongyeon’s Fix a Drink performances also made use of the overhead cube LED screens, adding visual depth and a sense of innovation that elevated their solo stages.

The performance of “TAKEDOWN” comes from Jihyo, Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung. Fans instantly recognized the connection to KPop Demon Hunters, as the arena flooded with red, blue and purple lightsticks controlled by the bluetooth activated lightsticks to match the theme of the movie. Jeongyeon mentioned in one of the behind-the-scenes that “Ever since my debut, ‘TAKEDOWN’ was the most difficult song. When I was recording, it was so hard. Can I really do this?" This track debuted at the start of their North American tour in Vancouver and got the fans up on their feet and singing along.

The back-up dancers deserve a ton of recognition as well. Watching their precision and coordination on stage made it clear that this tour is a massive collaboration effort that requires a successful team. In Los Angeles specifically, the sea of Candy Bongs from 3 different generations of fans reflected TWICE’s longevity and fanbase here. Selling out weekday shows on Wednesday, and Thursday, followed by completely full-houses on Saturday and Sunday proved how dedicated LA ONCE’s truly are.

Each night also brought small, but subtle fun changes including different hairstyles for each member. A special shout-out to their hairstylists, it became a running joke amongst fans that the clip-on bangs would “choose” a new member each night that would unofficially crown them as the crowd favorite.

It is without a doubt that every portion of the concert felt intentional, particularly the fan interactions designed to spark virality if shared online. Despite injuring her ankle after the Vancouver shows, Dahyun continued to shine on the stage during the LA tour, performing with only upper-body choreography and unmatched charisma while keeping the audience fully engaged.

The encore stages were pure fan service. TWICE returned in their official concert merch - available for fans to purchase,  but stylized in unique ways. It is common in k-pop that artists wear their merchandise in the encore stage so that they can better connect with the fans if they are wearing the same outfit and send fans home on a high.

Across the 4 days, they would perform different encore songs that were selected based on fan chats, including songs that were not part of the set list like “Battitude”, hit songs like “TT” and “Talk That Talk” and the nostalgic  “TWICE Song”, a song that only true  fans from 2017 would remember from their debut days that introduced the names of every member and their quirk.

After what was my 5th THIS IS FOR performance, it’s impressive how each show still manages to feel better than the last. With upcoming stops across the U.S - including Dallas, Washington, Chicago and Austin - as well as Canadian dates in Montreal and Hamilton, followed by a European leg ending in London’s O2 Arena in May. This is a show you would not want to miss! TWICE proves they continue to remain one of the most consistent and beloved groups in K-pop.

No matter where you’re seated, whether in the pits or the upper levels - there is truly no bad seat in this concert. Just don’t expect to stay sitting very long as the energy, the crowd and TWICE themselves will have you dancing until the very last song.
