TWICE Brings THIS IS FOR Tour to Vancouver, the First of Their North American Tour at Rogers Arenas

TWICE’s THIS IS FOR tour officially kicked off its North American leg this weekend in Vancouver. It marks the group’s first-ever tour stop in the city. Across two packed nights at Rogers Arena, the global K-pop sensation group of 9 idols (Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, Tzuyu) transformed the venue into a sea of bright lightsticks, sing alongs, and an emotional full-circle moment for both the group and their fans.

For TWICE, returning to Vancouver carried special meaning. Back in 2016, the city was a filming location for their song “LIKEY,” a music video that has over 654 million views and remains one of the group’s most popular tracks. Locations like Gastown, Stanley Park, and the now-iconic Pink Alley are always exciting spots for fans to recreate their dances. When “LIKEY” appeared as part of the encore, fans who knew the choreography showcased their own dance choreography that matched with TWICE who were on stage.

Long before TWICE took the stage, Rogers Arena buzzed with energy. Fans arrived early in carefully planned concert outfits, some inspired by their “THIS IS FOR” album, and other music videos, as well as their Victoria’s Secret show outfits.  Fans who had brought their TWICE bluetooth-connected lightsticks filled the arena, synchronized to the venue’s lighting and music system, ensuring every section became part of the show.

In kpop concerts, fans exchanged “freebies” that included handmade bracelets with member names, custom photo cards, and small goodie bags themed around TWICE. For those who haven’t been to kpop concerts, it feels almost communal, welcoming, and celebratory, reminiscent of the excitement that filled the same arena during Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour stop.

Merchandise booths drew long lines, offering everything from $28 mascot keychains, called Lovelys - each designed to resemble a TWICE member. There were also track jackets, crewnecks, and jerseys that showcased the North American tour destinations.

The THIS IS FOR tour was built with the 360-degree experience to ensure that every view is a great view.  The members performed hit songs from their THIS IS FOR album, then transitioned into solo performances, ending with hits like TT, Fancy and What is Love?. With multiple outfit changes, live band arrangements, and extended dance breaks, the production felt immersive all around. Unique geometric LED installations rose and shifted throughout the show, showcasing each of the individual members that resembled a modern art exhibit.

One standout surprise was a special performance of “Takedown,” a track from K-Pop Demon Hunters, performed by Chaeyoung, Jeongyeon and Jihyo. This song was incredibly popular as it is Netflix’s most-watched film ever with over 325 million views. .

Throughout the night, the jumbotron scanned the crowd, spotlighting fans who confidently performed TWICE choreography for a chance to be featured. Each fan earned cheers and laughter.

When “LIKEY” returned during the encore, it felt like a love letter to the city that helped define an earlier time of TWICE’s career. For many fans, seeing TWICE live was deeply emotional.
“Unreal - seeing idols that have been with you through their music, like a dream come true,” one fan shared after the show.  Another added, “It’s the first time they’ve tour-stopped in Vancouver. Usually I have to travel to Toronto, or Seattle. But this time it’s in my hometown so I had to come.”

With two nights filled to capacity, it’s clear Vancouver ONCEs showed up for TWICE. The energy, the turnout of fans have made a strong case for the city to remain a permanent stop on future North American tours.

Seeing TWICE live is an exciting experience when seeing idols on your phone screen fully step into your real life. It is, without a doubt, a night defined by breathtaking performances and memories that will last a lifetime.
