Jimmy Eat World Announce Something(s) Loud EP, Out November 14
Mesa’s own Jimmy Eat World are bringing their sound full circle this fall. The Arizona rock veterans just announced a brand-new six-track EP titled Something(s) Loud, landing November 14 through their own label, Exotic Location Recordings.
For longtime fans who still love physical media, this release hits different. The collection gathers recent digital-only singles—“Something Loud,” “Place Your Debts,” and their Crooked Fingers cover “Call to Love” (featuring Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast)—and gives them their long-awaited vinyl debut. Rounding it out are an acoustic take on “Something Loud,” a TW Walsh remix of “Place Your Debts,” and one previously unreleased gem called “Failure.”
“Failure” dates back to the Surviving sessions in 2019 and was co-produced with Justin Meldal-Johnsen, engineered and mixed by Failure’s own Ken Andrews. The song’s video, directed by Keith Koenig at Distiller Works, pairs nostalgic Arizona skate visuals with the reflective energy of the track—like a home movie straight out of the band’s formative years.
Frontman Jim Adkins says the project came together during a time when touring finally felt possible again. “Coming out of the pandemic, it didn’t feel right to tour without offering something more, so we took the chance to share a few more tracks we’d been working on,” he explained. “At the time, it seemed like listeners were gravitating toward playlists rather than full albums, so we decided to meet them where they were.”
The EP artwork was designed by Nick Steinhardt of 23in, who also handled Surviving’s visuals. Between the fresh cut, the remixes, and the acoustic rework, Something(s) Loud feels like a love letter to the band’s past and a look toward what’s coming next—especially with “big plans” teased for 2026.
