Seeing Seattle from Every Angle: Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass
When you think of Seattle, the Space Needle is probably the first image that pops up. But right next to it, Chihuly Garden and Glass brings another layer of art and magic that you shouldn’t skip. On our recent trip, we had the honor to partner with both spots for an unforgettable day of photos and exploration.
Massive thank-you to Amy Cunningham and the entire Space Needle + Chihuly Garden and Glass team for the media passes. Your hospitality let us capture every angle for our readers and socials. (Brands reading this, that’s how you build word-of-mouth magic.)
Space Needle: The Icon You Have to See
The Space Needle isn’t just a tourist trap — it really lives up to the hype. At 605 feet tall, you get a full 360-degree view of Seattle, including the mountains and Puget Sound.
Tickets:
Adults: ~$37.50
Youth (ages 5-12): ~$28.50
Kids under 4: free
You can also get combo tickets with Chihuly Garden and Glass to save a bit.
When to go:
Early morning for softer light and fewer crowds.
Sunset is also popular (but busier).
What to expect:
Rotating glass floor at the top (called The Loupe).
Open-air observation deck — super windy but worth it.
You can take the stairs on the way down for a small challenge, and they even hand out a free shirt at the bottom if you do it.
Chihuly Garden and Glass: Surreal Art That Feels Alive
Just steps away from the Space Needle is Chihuly Garden and Glass. This place is all about blown glass sculptures that look like something out of a sci-fi dream.
Tickets:
Adults: ~$35
Youth: ~$26
Kids under 4: free
When to go:
Morning light is unreal here. The glass glows in a way that’s hard to describe until you see it.
The garden area is also stunning, especially if it’s sunny or right after rain.
What to expect:
The Glasshouse — a massive structure with a 100-foot-long sculpture that feels like it’s floating.
Indoor galleries with changing colors and shapes.
Outdoor garden that blends glass and plants seamlessly.

Pro Tips
Get the combo ticket if you’re doing both — it’s cheaper and saves time.
Book ahead online. Spots fill up fast, especially weekends.
If you’re into photography, bring a wide-angle lens for the Needle and something tighter (like a 50mm or 85mm) for Chihuly details.
Final Thoughts
Seattle has a ton of hidden gems, but these two should be at the top of your list. From epic city views to mind-blowing glass art, you get a full picture of what makes this city special.
We can’t thank the Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass teams enough for the chance to explore and capture it all. Check out our full photo set on Instagram (@n.c028) and the full gallery + review right here on The Mikan Box.
