[Concert Review] Rolling Quartz Rock the Stage with Fire, Fun, and Full-Blown Guitar Solos
Rolling Quartz might be one of the coolest live rock bands you’re not paying enough attention to. But after their latest show, they’ve officially secured a spot in my “I’d see them again in a heartbeat” list.
The moment the lights dimmed and the band started playing The Star-Spangled Banner (yes, seriously), the crowd instantly lit up. Everyone was singing along, and it felt like the perfect mix of chaotic and patriotic in the most rock ‘n roll way possible.
One by one, the members walked on stage as the cheers got louder. The energy? Immediately off the charts.
They kicked things off with pure power—tight playing, great stage presence, and this contagious joy that made it impossible not to smile. There was a fun little jam session in the middle of the set where the band just danced and messed around on their instruments. It wasn’t choreographed or overly polished, and that’s what made it so good. It was just musicians vibing out and letting loose.
A major highlight? Their rock cover of Bad Romance. It was unexpected, gritty, and honestly kind of genius. The crowd loved it. And their version of Pink Venom later on? Also fire.
Jayoung, the main vocalist, is a force. Her voice cut through the room with power and edge, and she had this natural way of leading the crowd without saying too much. And while she absolutely held it down as frontwoman, every member had their moment to shine. Hyunjung (the one with the blue hair) absolutely shredded her guitar solo. Iree, the lead guitarist, brought the riffs. Arem’s basslines were clean and cool. And Yeongeun? She was a beast on drums. Seriously, give the drummer more love.
One of the best parts of the show was how balanced it felt. Even in high-energy moments, they made space to let each other shine. Watching the band zero in on one member for a solo or spotlight moment gave the whole night a sense of unity—you weren’t just watching a frontwoman with backup, you were watching a band.
By the end of the set, the crowd was completely locked in. Jayoung announced the “last song” and encouraged everyone to sing along. But of course, when they walked off, no one was ready to let them go. “Rolling Quartz!” and “Encore!” chants echoed until they came back out for one more track.
Final verdict? These girls rock. Like, real rock. Loud, confident, technical, and full of personality. Whether you're a casual listener or a full-on headbanger, Rolling Quartz is one of those bands that makes you want to pick up an instrument—or at least scream your lungs out in the front row.
