Taiwanese Heritage Celebration at Chase Field: A Night of Culture and Connection
On Saturday, September 21, 2025, the Arizona Diamondbacks welcomed fans to Chase Field for a special Taiwanese Heritage Celebration as part of the team’s Asian Heritage Series. The pregame festivities blended baseball with cultural pride, honoring Taiwan’s community contributions while creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere.
Pregame Recognitions
The celebration officially began at 4:32 p.m. with a warm welcome. Moments later, the Taiwan Little League Teamwas recognized on the RF Track, drawing applause from fans. Next came Taroko Sports and the Taiwan Tourism Administration, both honored on the on-deck circle for their efforts in strengthening ties between Taiwan and the Valley community. Recognition of China Airlines followed, highlighting the airline’s support of the event.
At 4:59 p.m., Kevin Chen, President of China Airlines, delivered the ceremonial first pitch. Two additional ceremonial pitches added to the excitement as the energy built toward game time.
La Terraza Cultural Activations
Beyond the field, La Terraza in the upper concourse came alive with cultural activations. Fans explored booths, engaged with community organizations, and experienced a taste of Taiwan’s traditions through interactive displays. It became a lively hub where baseball and cultural heritage met.
GenBlue Update
Originally, the group GenBlue was scheduled to join the celebration. Due to changes in their promotional schedule, however, they were unable to attend. Sky Entertainment assured fans that GenBlue will reschedule their U.S. promotions as soon as possible. While the group was missed, fans look forward to seeing them in the near future.
Community Spirit
From meeting local leaders like the mayor to connecting with representatives from the Taiwan Tourism Administration and China Airlines, fans experienced more than just baseball. The event fostered a sense of unity and pride, proving once again that sports can be a powerful platform for cultural celebration.
